Utility Rates Study

The City of Orono updates their Utility Rate Study every year to ensure the City is meeting the cost requirements to operate each of the City’s Utilities. The City would like to include more engagement in the rate study process. We are planning an informational session that will explain what is included in the cost to operate a city utility and how the rates are calculated; included in these costs are factors that include charges from Metropolitan Council and the recycling mandate. If you would like to learn more, you are invited to attend an informational session where the rates are studied and determined.

The new rates will be implemented for services provided, starting January 1, 2021.
